Project History
The idea for Kirkwood Apartments was conceived in 1978 when Ayr and District Citizens Association recognized a need for more affordable housing options in the area. Our organization worked closely with local partners and community members to secure funding and resources to bring the project to fruition. After 4 years of planning and construction, Kirkwood Apartments opened its doors to its first residents in 1982.
Since then, Kirkwood Apartments has become a thriving and welcoming community home to 53 families. We are proud of Kirkwood Apartments' positive impact on the community and are committed to providing high-quality, affordable housing options for those in need.
